Look, Ma, No Training Wheels!!

And, so far, no major wipeouts!! We took Evan's training wheels off yesterday afternoon and this morning he was riding all by himself - starting off, turning, and stopping - with no help from me. It was very fun watching him go. He fell once but he wasn't even moving. He was trying to get his pedals right for take off!

Below are some more pictures of the memorable day! Posted by Picasa

The Newest Boy Band

Evan and Elliot are going to be the second coming of the Black Crowes - brothers in a band. Here we have Evan on lead guitar, Elliot on rhythm and their friend Tyler on the keys. They were jammin' and making up words to their own "Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Black Crowes" songs. Posted by Picasa

Three Silly Boys

Evan and Elliot dress up as "Space Aliens" while Drew is just his normal cutie-pie self. Posted by Picasa

Evan's space alien pauses to ponder the great questions of life: Are we alone, or is there other intelligent life in the universe? What is the secret ingredient to Coke? Did I leave my iron on? Posted by Picasa

What do you get when you cross a cowboy, a gladiator, a baseball player and cool dude with shades??

Theology of the Body

All day this past Saturday I attended Christopher West's seminar on Pope John Paul II's teaching called the "Theology of the Body" held at St. Theresa's parish in Sugar Land, TX. It is a profound course that talks about human sexuality in light of what God wants it to be, not as the secular society has made it out to be.

We've been lied to.

For years we have allowed our culture tell us that a woman is only beautiful if she is looks like a supermodel. That sex is all about "me" and that's ok. That God should stay out of our bedrooms.

Well, thank God for Pope John Paul II. He loved us enough to not remain silent. Instead, he delivered his magnificent work of Theology of the Body over the course of many many Wednesday audiences to gently remind us that God had a plan for all of us in the beginning, and it wasn't like it is now.

Thank God for Christopher West for putting the Pope's great work in a way that simple everyday Joes and Janes can understand.

Please visit his website which is linked above. He has audio, video, books...you name it. If you need resources, they are all available right there.

As a side note, I have also linked to St. Theresa's Parish website. It was a nice church with an absolutely incredible adoration chapel. Unfortunately there are no pictures of the chapel, except that the image of the stain glassed window shown on their front page is the central backdrop behind the altar in the chapel. They do have the pastor's homilies available for download. I haven't listened to them yet, but I've heard they are very good. Let's all check them out.

Happy Birthday Nanou...

...You live in a Zoo...

Today was Gina's birthday and we celebrated with a pork roast, Kim's famous mashed potatoes and green beans and of course a birthday cake and presents. The cake was Gina's favorite - yellow with chocolate icing and everyone approved. She recieved a pair of comfy PJ's from Glenn and some perfume and body lotion from us. It was a wonderful evening.

Happy birthday Sis! Remember, make this YOUR YEAR!!

Chicken "Pops"

Evan smiles and wishes that he could keep the chicken pox on his head. (Don't ask me why.)

Elliot, on the other hand says, "Chicken Pops make me grumpy."

Chicken Pox!!!

Well, it looks like that very slight case of "something" that Drew had on Christmas Eve really was the chicken pox! Evan and Elliot both have full blown chicken pox. Elliot has them worse than Evan, although Evan has bigger ones it seems.

I guess we are about to find out if I truly am immune to Chicken Pox, because there is no way I wouldn't catch them being around these two.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Love to all,

Chad, Kim, Evan, Elliot and Drew. Posted by Picasa

Evan points out a chicken pock on his arm. Is "pock" the correct singular for pox? Posted by Picasa
