Rain Rain, Go Away

Before we left for the fateful fishing trip, it kept raining on and off. (That should have given us a hint!) Here is Elliot and Gina doing an "Anti-Rain Dance."

Evan's Art Work

On the way home from Camp, Evan asked Gina if she wanted him to draw something special for her. She asked Evan to draw what it would have looked like if that snake would have landed in the boat with Pop. So, Evan dutifully went to drawing and about 5 minutes later he hands us this picture! Notice Pop's expression and his hair. Evan sure knows his Pop!!

Fourth of July Weekend at the Cabin

We went to Bundick's Lake for the weekend before the Fourth of July and everyone had a ball. Mom and Dad, Mike and Tanya Alex Kate and Courtney, Gina Glenn and Chelsea, and Kim Evan Elliot Drew and myself rounded out the camp crew.

The hilight of the trip was on Sunday afternoon, Dad and I took Evan and Elliot out in the boat to go fishing. Luckily we just went to a boat slip a stone's throw away from our camp because one heck of a rainstorm blew up on us. We had to get out of the boat and into the middle of the boat slip to stay dry.

Once the heavy rain gave way to light drizzles, we began fishing again. We caught a few fish and were putting them on a stringer for a possible fish fry. Well, once the rain totally stopped, we were beckoned back to the camp by the women. Dad pulled up the stringer and there was a water moccasin on the catfish!! It was about 4' long. Evan and Elliot really loved it, but dad seemed a bit nervous. He eventually let go and fell back into the lake, but not before giving dad a scare that he might land on the deck with him!

When we got back to the camp, Evan was telling Dad that it's not good to want to kill a snake. Dad asked Evan, "Well, what if that snake would have bit Pop?" With a straight face, Evan replied, "We'd call 911." Posted by Picasa
