Welcome to the Catholic Church Steve!

We were blessed to be able to take part in the reception of my father-in-law, Steve Harvey, into the Catholic Church. After about one year from first looking into joining the Church he was received into full Communion at the Easter Vigil, 2006. What an exciting evening. We watched as he received the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Holy Communion. I told Evan that many very special occasions for us occurred at St. Margaret's: that's where Kim and I were married and now, it was where her dad was Baptised, Confirmed and received First Holy Communion.

Congratulations Steve! Welcome to the Church! Posted by Picasa

Corpus Christi Vacation March 30 - April 3, 2006

We took a "mini" vacation this past weekend in Corpus Christi. We wanted to attend the Fullness of Truth Conference being held there over the weekend, so we rented a condo on the beach and I took off half a day Thursday through Monday. The drive down wasn't too bad. In all it took us about 4 hours to get there.

First of all the lady renting the condo gave us a free night on Thursday, so that's why I took off half a day Thursday, so we could take advantage of that. When we get there, we are so amazed at our view of the beach. I mean we were right there on the beach. And it was a NICE beach. No seaweed, no trash. The water was green...not brown! We were thrilled! The weather was great. It was pretty windy and the skies were partly cloudy most of the weekend, but I still managed to get a sunburn on Sunday while building sand castles.

We really fell in love with Corpus and we are going to try to go back this summer. More pictures of our trip are below.

We wish everyone could have been there! Posted by Picasa

Evan and Elliot on the Beach

The boys really enjoyed the beach. They built so many sand castles and mountains and volcanoes! We had a wonderful time and are planning to return possibly this summer. Posted by Picasa

USS Lexington

When you cross over the Harbor Bridge in Corpus Christi, you cannot miss the majestic USS Lexington, a WWII-era Aircraft Carrier. It dominates the Harbor. We took the tour and were amazed. You could just feel the history as though it were still happening around you. On the flight deck there were aircraft of all types. My favorite was the F-14 Tomcat.

The boys were able to sit in a F-4 Phantom flight trainer, as well as sit in the captians chair on the bridge! It was really cool. Posted by Picasa

The Texas State Aquarium

Corpus Christi has a nice aquarium near the USS Lexington. We were able to see them feed the alligator! They fed him rats! YUCK! They also had dolphins and sharks. We enjoyed it very much. Posted by Picasa

Fullness of Truth Conference

The main reason for us going to Corpus Christi was to attend the Fullness of Truth Conference. Speakers included Fr. Corapi, Fr. Mitch Pacwa, Steve Ray and Jesse Romero. Here is a picture that we took from the balcony during one of Fr. Corapi's talks. We really enjoyed the conference and we saw a lot of people that we know from Kingwood! Posted by Picasa

Family Picture at Mass

We attended Mass at the Corpus Christi Cathedral. It was a special Mass for the Fullness of Truth Conference and Fr. Mitch Pacwa from EWTN was the main celebrant! He gave a wonderful homily. Posted by Picasa

Pieta

The Cathedral had this beautiful sculpture of the Pieta in the main entryway. When Drew started getting fussy during Mass I took him here and paced from this statue to the one of St. Anthony (see below) until he fell asleep. Posted by Picasa
