Cairo Egypt part 2

Well, I'm in Cairo for the second time this year. I opted to sleep in instead of going to the museum. My body is still on Houston time as I slept until 1:00pm which is about 5:00 am Houston time. I know, I'm never up that early, but I never sleep until 1pm either! The flight from Houston to Paris was cramped. I was in a middle seat for some strange reason, and there was a metal box on the floor in front of me, so I couldn't stretch my left leg out in front of me. I got up a few times to walk and just stand in the bathroom under the AC vent! The Paris to Cairo flight was much better. I was asleep before we even took off!

In Flight Movie Reviews:

I watched many movies on the way. Here's what I thought of them:

Horton Hears a Who - I wanted to see it since the boys and Kim already watched it. I thought it was ok. 3-1/2 of 5 stars.

Fool's Gold - Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey. Me and Kim almost rented this one. It was pretty good. Made me want to go back to the beach! 4 of 5 Stars.

Shine a Light - Documentary of the Rolling Stones by Martin Scorsese. I really liked this. It was cool to see these geezers still rocking. Keith Richards is so fun to watch as he interacts with the crowd. Even telling someone to shut up as he is harmonizing with Mick on one of the songs. He just doesn't care what people think. One of the highlights for me was when they brought out Jack White of the White Stripes and did Loving Cup. Man what a great song. Another good song was when they brought out Buddy Guy for Champagne and Reefer. Wow can that dude play and still sting too. He's got to be in his 70's. When the song was over, Keith Richards gives the guitar he was playing to Guy. It was really cool. 4-1/2 of 5 Stars.

10,000 BC - This was the big surprise of all the movies. I put this one on near the end of the flight to Paris just to pass the time and ended up really liking it, but we landed before it ended, so I had to finish watching it on the flight to Cairo. It is like Lord of the Rings meets the Mummy. Kind of on par with 300, but not as bloody. 4 of 5 stars.

Vantage Point - Dennis Quaid and Forrest Whittaker. This one was ok. I actually didn't get to see the very ending, but it was a bit tiresome in establishing the plot and unless I missed a huge twist at the very end, it was too predictable. 3 of 5 stars.

The JW Marriott Hotel
Wow this Hotel is fabulous! The room is not as nice as the one I was in at the Intercontinental City Stars, but that one was a suite and this one is a regular room. Still it's very nice. The pool area is fantastic. For the kids they have a wave pool, tube slide, and the play equipment in the water. There is also a giant game room with video games, a train and bumper cars! Here are some pictures.

Galveston 2008

At the Rainforest Cafe.

Here we are at the end of the walkover from our "cottage" to the beach. We waited until sunset to go because Evan was recovering from not feeling too good, plus, I was a crawfish and needed a break from the sun! So during the day we did a craft where we cut out stencils of various things and painted T-Shirts and all the boys were wearing them to the beach. Evan's is the New Death Star (from Return of the Jedi), Elliot's is T-Rex and Drew's is a Mammoth.

I LOVE this picture. The Queen and all her Knights. Look at the color of the sky behind them!

Me and the boys. Check out my sunglasses! When we checked into our beach house, I found these in the pillowcase and have worn them to the beach and pool every day. No sense in risking messing up my good Ray Bans!
