We went to Pioneer Days today at Jesse Jones Park off of FM1960 in Humble. It is where people dress up like the old pioneer days and exhibit what it was like to live back then. They had a petting zoo with the Three Billy Goats Gruff, a "hook 'em" that you could sit on and pet, a donkey to pet, a covered wagon that you got to sit in and dress like a pioneer, and lots of other things. They have an authentic pioneer villiage, complete with a house, barn, chicken coop, blacksmith, smokehouse and woodworking shop.
The people showed us how to make soap, weave on a loom and cut shingles from cottonwood trees. Hey, this information would have come in handy after hurricane Rita!!
