Our Nativity Scene

Here is our Nativity Scene for this year. Grandma Denton bought us the beautiful Fontanini Stable, the Holy Famliy, the two shepherds, three sheep and the two cherubs for our Wedding gift. We decided a few years back to start a new tradition and that is to let the kids pick out a new Nativity piece each year during Advent. The first year Evan chose the Ox (laying in front of St. Joseph.) Last year Evan and Elliot picked the Camel (looking over Mary's shoulder.) This year they agreed on the Donkey (sitting behind St. Joseph.)

At this rate it would take several years to get some very important pieces, such as the wise men...primarily because the boys only seem to be interested in all the ANIMALS that were there that night so many years ago. So, I think after Christmas day passes, we will see about buying the three wise men and place them in our Nativity scene on Epiphany (January 6.) I know, I know, technically, Mary and Joseph were not in the Stable once the wise men found them and there is no mention of exactly three wise men, but hey, ya'll get the idea!! Posted by Picasa
